Job Description:

We are seeking a highly motivated, experienced accountant based out of one of our manufacturing operations. The Accountant, reporting to the Mill Manager, is a key part of the plant management team providing support for West Fraser finance and accounting systems, including accounts payable, payroll, and financial and operational reporting.
Here's What You'll Do:

• 
  
• Developing and collaborating with office staff and other mill personnel
  
• Learn and develop a strong understanding of the various aspects of the mill to provide insight into areas of improvement and accounting processes
  
• Support the timely and accurate reporting of financial, operational, and statistical data
  
• Develop and maintain reporting of financial and non-financial key performance indicators
  
• Support West Fraser accounting activities including accounts payable, payroll, and financial reporting
  
• Manage month-end close process and reporting, general ledger reconciliations, account analyses, etc.
  
• Maintain adequate internal controls to ensure compliance with company policies and SOX
  
• Weekly cost reporting and forecasting
  
• Inventory control and analysis
  
• Ad-hoc assignments from mill management or other projects as assigned
  
  Here's What You'll Need:
  
  • 
    
  • 4-year degree in business, accounting, or finance or
    
  • 3+ years experience in a similar role; preferable in a manufacturing environment
    
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and a working knowledge of Word and PowerPoint
    
  • Experience in Oracle financial system is a plus
    
  • Experience with SOX is preferred
