Key Responsibilities of the Staff Accountant As a Staff Accountant , you will support the finance department in maintaining financial records and ensuring the accuracy of financial reporting. Your responsibilities will include: Account Reconciliation : Investigate and resolve discrepancies through monthly and quarterly reconciliations. Account Setup and Structure : Create and maintain accurate charts of accounts, ensuring proper classification of entries. General Ledger Management : Prepare and post journal entries, reconcile ledger accounts, and ensure accurate data flow into financial statements. Audit Readiness : Assist with internal and external audit preparation by ensuring general ledger accuracy and documentation compliance. Financial Reporting Support : Collaborate with the accounting team to generate reports, assist with month-end close, and support budgeting efforts.
