Report To: SCUPP Materials Manager
Location: Carrollton, GA - SCUPPSummary: This individual will provide engineering support for continuous improvement initiatives, cost reduction projects, project timelines, and material flow for the SCUPP materials management groupDescription of Duties and Responsibilities:* Participate in Lean activities, such as Kaizen events, Problem Solving events, SMED, Value and Stream Mapping
* Evaluate plant capabilities and capacities relative to specific products and product hierarchies
* Understand standard cost and perform cost analysis for new products, product changes, and product rationalization
* Gather, analyze, and evaluate ideas from manufacturing to improve or develop new functionality within materials management or production planning
* Assist in analyzing and optimizing plant and equipment layouts (3P & VPI)
* Drive and track capacity growth initiatives relative to cost out events and any modernization efforts
* Participate in special projects as it relates to current initiatives within company or operations to leverage systems; examples include Master Data initiatives, support Integrated Business Plan implementation
* Lead or assist projects from idea generation to execution with the goal of improving key performance indicators (KPIs). Develop and maintain dashboards/KPIs for reporting
* Maintain accurate and current training documentation as it related to materials management process
* Target process improvement initiatives, working with process owners and project team members through all phases of planning, implementation, and control
* Gather data and analyze to make predictions, assess trends, and map out future processes
* Assist with reports and presentations
* Analyze cost improvement initiatives and track progress
* Must support the production departments and work closely with the Value Stream Manager and the supervisors in the plant
* Responsible for reviewing WIP levels to keep obsolete inventory at acceptable levels.
* Support scheduling manufacturing facilities for maximum utilization
* Become a change agent for inventory accuracy by implement best in class cycle counting process
* Improve transactional process related to daily inventory adjustments to improve material yieldQualifications and Experience Requirements:* Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering required
* Knowledge of Wire and Cable manufacturing and/or Project Management systems is preferred.
* 2+ years of experience preferred.
* Work with a variety of systems including but not limited to SAP, Advaris, Kaizen Optimizer, CableBuilder and JIRA.
* SAP & Advaris experience preferred
* Must possess strong leadership skills as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Utilize Excel, Excel Macros, Relational Database Theory and Develop interactive reports in Excel for analyzing the production, budget, and capacity
* Must be able to work well on teams with sales, product management, and operations.
