Role Summary
The Market Leader leverages a cross-functional view of the business to help ensure that the our Cox markets provide a "better and better" customer experience, meets or exceeds financial and customer targets and engages and motivates employees on behalf of the goals and objectives of the company.
The Market Leader is a business partner, collaborator and contributor to the functional teams' success in the region. They help solve local issues and enable and support a cohesive team driving business results. They provide the organization and functional leaders with key insights and inroads within the region and markets. They advocate for the local market in order to grow the business.
Primary Responsibilities and Essential Functions

  • Ensure alignment between region and center reporting teams by looking cross functionally to keep business together and people connected within Cox markets.
  • Facilitate dialogue among functional leaders through meetings and other means to ensure collaboration and alignment of company efforts within the market.
  • Provides critical input, feedback to ensure that Senior Region leaders stay informed by the competitive, operational and economic realities of the market.
  • Takes accountability for Business Development
  • Champions Cox Customer Experience
  • Acts as the voice of the customer.
  • Partners with senior region leaders to help all market based employees understand what role they play in creating the Cox Experience.
  • Ensures positive employee engagement and labor relations by ensuring that there is open and direct communication with our employees and that the various functions are operating in alignment with the company's core values.
  • Partner with HR and functional leaders on union avoidance initiatives.
  • Serve as POC for the market when organizing campaigns and efforts occur.
  • Partner with Government and Public Affairs on overall community and regulatory strategy
  • Be the Face of the Company through participation in in community, civic, and business organizations. Establish, support, and leverage positive company relationships to grow the business.
  • Inform overall market community and regulatory strategy
  • Execute the plan designed by Government and Public affairs.
  • Manages talent development and performance; provides input on performance and potential of leaders residing in the markets.

    Qualifications:

    Minimum:
    • Where permitted by applicable law, must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 to be considered for this U.S. based job. (Reasonable accommodations for medical and religious objections will be considered.)
    • 10+ years of business management experience required in related
    • Requires strong practioner of collaboration and matrix management.
    • Excellent community relations, interpersonal, leadership, an executive presence and strong, demonstrated collaborative skills to work effectively with teams throughout organization
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Experience in various functions related to Public or Government Affairs with knowledge of legislative, governmental and regulatory processes
    • Ability to define, monitor and analyze information utilizing strong critical thinking skills. Preferred
      • BS/BA degree in related discipline strongly desired; MBA preferred
      • Experience in telecommunications industry desired
      • 5-7 years progressive managerial experience in transferrable disciplines (e.g. information systems, data center operations, network equipment and protocols, and telecommunication technology) Key Skills

        • Integrity and Trust - Is widely trusted; is seen as a direct, truthful individual; can present the truth in a helpful manner; keeps confidences, admits mistakes; doesn't misrepresent himself for personal gain.
