Behavioral Health services provides state-of-the-art treatment and
support services for more than 13,000 children, youth, families and
adults annually, who experience mental illness, addiction,
co-occurring disorders or developmental disabilities.As a Certified
Medical Assistant with River Edge, you will perform a variety of
duties in an outpatient office setting. You will need previous
experience working in a medical or behavioral health practice
setting. You should demonstrate attention to detail, excellent
communication and interpersonal skills. if you are looking to be in

this is the position for you!Duties and Responsibilities
- Welcomes clients by greeting them, in person or on the
telephone
- Answering or referring inquiries about services or
processes
- Prepares clients for the health care visit by directing and/or
accompanying them to the examining room
- Maintaining examining room and lab area supplies and
equipment
- Maintains client confidence and protects operations by keeping
client care information confidential
- Assists in obtaining prior authorizations for medications,
enrolling individuals in patient assistance programs, and helping
refer to medication assistance programs as needed to ensure clients
can afford cost of medications
- Supports client care delivery by helping health care providers
during examinations, disposing of contaminated supplies, and
sterilizing medical instruments
- Coordinating care and communicating with primary care
providers
- Educates and answers client questions by providing medication
and diet information and care instructions
- Completes appropriate client documentation in electronic
medical record
- Keeps office and lab equipment operating by following operating
instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, maintaining supplies,
performing preventive maintenance, calling for repairs
- Keeps supplies ready by inventorying stock, placing orders, and
verifying receipt of supplies
- Maintains safe, secure, and healthy work environment by
following and enforcing set standards and procedures and complying
with legal regulations
- Serves and protects the physician or health care provider
practice by adhering to professional standards, policies and
procedures, federal, state, and local requirements, ASO, DBHDD, and
Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF)
standards
- Updates job knowledge by participating in educational
opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining
personal networks, participating in professional organizations,
etc.
- Enhances health care practice reputation by accepting ownership
for accomplishing new and different requests and exploring
opportunities to add value to job accomplishmentsQualifications
- Fully COVID Vaccinated
- Certified Medical Assistant
- Excellent
- Communication skills for understanding provider or supervisor
instructions and for accurately documenting client medical
information
- Ability to effectively communicate with client population and
staff while demonstrating a high degree of diplomacy and tact
- Competent computer, copier, fax, and phone skills
- Demonstrate flexibility in regards to job duties and
assignments
- Ability to multi-task and work effectively in a high-stress and
fast-moving environment
- Working knowledge of universal precautions and demonstrates
professionalism at all times
- Possess a thorough understanding of the importance of
confidentiality and non-disclosure according to the general
standards set forth by HIPPA.This position is subject to close at
