Responsibilities

Paramedic - Ambulance F/T & PRN Opportunities Available Provides emergency care at the scene of an accident or other emergency. Responsibilities involve preparation for response, response, delivery of care, transportation, documentation, and post response duties. Also attends to patients being transported by ambulance on non-emergency calls and is responsible for the patient's safety en route. Responsible for performing an initial assessment of the scene and patient including obtaining a brief targeted history and completing a physical exam. Recognizes and evaluates patients who require immediate attention and when necessary initiates emergency lifesaving treatment. Delivers and/or supervises the delivery of emergency patient care such as administering cardiopulmonary resuscitation, oxygen and resuscitation with an ambu bag. Intubates when necessary. Inserts IVs and administers medication according to physician order or ACLS protocol. Also may participate in life safety programs, community awareness programs, and other programs as assigned. Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required Minimum Education: High school graduate or equivalent required. Successful completion of Paramedic program.

Required Minimum Certification: Current certification as Paramedic in the state of Georgia. Must possess a valid Class C driver's license. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through American Heart Association (AHA) is required. Must complete annual training and CEU requirements. Maintains current AHA CPR and ACLS. Maintains current PALS.

Required Minimum Experience: One year of experience as an Emergency Medical Technician highly preferred.
