ResponsibilitiesNOW HIRING! Experienced OR Periop Nurses

• Day Shift: Monday - Friday 6:45am to 3:15pm with a rotating on call schedule for nights and weekends
• MWF in the Main Hospital Operating Rooms and T,Th in Outpatient CenterBasic responsibilities:
  • Patient advocate - Go and get patient in Pre-Op and meet with patient before surgery to both reassure them and assess their readiness for the surgery, " Knowing pertinent information about patient and ensuring this is correct patient and correct surgery.
  • Positioning the patient and properly shaving and preparing skin for incision.
  • Managing the room, supplies, equipment, lighting, and documentation (charting)
  • Monitoring all vital signs or changes in status of patient.
  • Ensuring no breaks in sterile field.
  • Initiating "counts" when time to close - accounting for every sponge, blade, instrument etc.
  • Other duties as assignedQualificationsRequired Minimum Education: Graduate of an accredited/approved school of nursingPreferred Education: Baccalaureate degree in nursing (BSN) from an accredited school of nursing preferredRequired Minimum License: Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Georgia or hold a privilege to practice in the State of Georgia under the Enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC).Preferred License: Required Minimum Certification: Must have a current BLS card from the American Heart Association on the first day of employment in position. Specialty Areas May Require ACLS, NRP or PALS - if required, must receive ACLS, NRP or PALS within six months of employment in position. Preferred Certification: Required Minimum Experience:. Preferred Experience: Experience with direct patient care preferredRequired Minimum Skills: Ability to read, write and speak English language, optimize the use of technology to support clinical care and holds basic computer skills; Strong interpersonal, collaborative skills along with customer service skills required; Ability to function in a fast paced environment and respond to emergencies in using a decisive, composed and respectful manner; Possess excellent time management skills; practices nursing using evidence and analytical skills along with possessing strongcritical thinking skills
