Job Title: MRI Technologist Profession: MRI Technologist Specialty: MRI Duration: 17 weeks Shift: 12H Days Sat-Mon Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 3 years of MRI experience License: Required Certifications: ARRT (M), BLS Must-Have: - 1 year of MRI experience. - Experience with Siemens equipment, Philips experience preferred. - Travel experience preferred, Level II trauma experience is a plus. Description: The department has a total of 4 scanners, with 2 staffed by agency personnel. There is also a mobile unit in operation. The technologist will not be required to float to other areas. Common types of imaging performed include musculoskeletal imaging, basic neuro, abdominal/pelvic imaging, radiation oncology, and breast imaging. Patients may include those with pacemakers and anesthesia needs, as well as ICU and NICU patients. The average number of scans performed daily is approximately 30, given the length of protocols. The department utilizes PACS software from McKesson or Changed Health Care. The equipment includes Siemens, with a Philips scanner expected in the near future. A full-time supervisor is available, and a senior tech will be scheduled if a lead tech is not present. IV start is required for patients when applicable. Shifts typically start between 8 a.m. and 12 p.m., with weekend shifts involving a higher volume of inpatients and outpatients. No call or standby requirements are expected, though volunteering is an option if there is a shortage. The dress code includes black scrubs and a black or gray jacket, with no fleece permitted. Unit-specific orientation lasts 1 to 2 weeks. The charting system used is MEDITECH - 6.1. A BSN is not required for this position. The care setting is acute, serving a high-volume environment.
