Job Title: RN - MedSurg/Tele Profession: Registered Nurse

of Med/Tele RN experience License: RN License (Associate's degree
at a minimum) Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS required Must-Have:
Basic Cardiac Rhythm (BCR) test completed during onboarding Strong
clinical assessment and time management skills IV insertion and
maintenance skills Cardiac monitoring and interpretation experience
Care coordination with interdisciplinary team Discharge planning
knowledge and patient education Description: We are seeking a
skilled RN for our Medical-Surgical/Telemetry unit. The unit has a
capacity of 16 beds with an average daily census of 16 patients.
Common patient types and diagnoses include chest pain,
syncope/vomiting, abdominal pain, cellulitis, COPD exacerbation,
heart failure observation, dehydration, hypertension, diabetes,
simple trauma, and post-operative care. Patient-to-nurse ratios
range from 1:4 to 1:6. The role includes responsibilities such as
tracheostomy care, chest tube management, PIV starts, and managing
insulin and heparin drips. Collaboration with the interdisciplinary
team for care coordination is essential. Nursing assistants will
assist with vital signs, glucose checks, bathing, feeding,
ambulating, and transporting patients as needed. Additional support
includes a unit secretary and phlebotomy services. The unit
benefits from 24/7 respiratory therapy and hospitalist support.
Telemetry monitoring is performed centrally. The electronic medical
record system used is EPIC, which also integrates various
monitoring and dispensing technologies. The nursing culture on the
unit is fast-paced and team-oriented. There will be a rotation that
includes working 5 to 6 weekends out of every 12 weeks. Holiday
expectations include working one shift of each major holiday.
