Job Summary: Supports the mission of the hospital which is to provide patients with the highest quality of healthcare in a caring atmosphere. Provision of nursing care to adult and geriatric patients based upon the nursing process and for which educational background has provided nursing skills. Communicates with physicians and team members about changes in patient's clinical condition, including results of diagnostic studies and symptomatology. Participate and support staff in providing patient care by taking a patient assignment as needed during emergent situations. Work with staff to identify educational and equipment needs, coach, manage performance skills, and develop leadership potential. In collaboration with nursing team, ensure all nurse sensitive quality metrics (including Core Measures and HCAHPS) are maintained above the National/ NDNQI benchmark through process improvement, reduction in practice variation, and evidence based practice.Duties include but not limited to:* Work with Directors from all departments, to ensure effective discharge process and positive patient experience* Assist in identifying trends, recognitions, delays in care or discharge disposition issues.* Maintain greater than 75th percentile for discharge phone calls on all inpatients discharged and surveyed through Press Ganey* Provide Directors, CNO, ACNO and Director of Clinical Operations daily updates on discharge phone calls.* Actively seeks ways to control costs without compromising patient safety, quality of care or the services delivered.* Attends in-service presentations and completes all mandatory education requirements.* Regular, punctual and dependable attendance per policy.* Other duties as assigned.Qualifications * Associates Degree from a professional nursing program (required)* BSN or current enrollment in a BSN program at an accredited school of Nursing (preferred)* State of Georgia RN License or an Enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC) required* American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support Course (BLS or BCLS) Coliseum Health System--is a two hospital system located in Macon, GA; you may know us better as Coliseum Medical Centers and Coliseum Northside Hospital.
