Georgia State University College of Law currently seeks candidates
for the position of Admissions Counselor II. The Admissions
Counselor II will report to the Associate Director for Law
Admissions and will work closely with the Law Admissions team to
counsel prospective students, support the development and
implementation of the Law Admissions communication and
correspondence strategy, provide administrative support for
scholarship processes, and assist with planning events to achieve
recruitment goals.

HERE IS WHAT YOU WILL DO
* Advise prospective and admitted students about the law school's
program, curriculum, enrollment statistics, and outcomes. Educate
constituents about the application process, requirements,
departmental policies, and procedural information for all Juris
Doctor Programs. Manages the general Law Admissions inbox.
* Implements regular communication with prospective students and
applicants using Unite. Conducts follow-up with applicants to
ensure that admission documentation is complete and ready for
review. Maintains the application funnel and processes
decisions.
* Manages the waitlist. Verifies and updates lawful presence for
admitted students in accordance with university policies.
* Participate in recruitment programs and events including
off-campus recruiting, information sessions, campus tours, open
houses, admitted student events, and communication campaigns.
* Manages correspondence flow for potential and selected
scholarship recipients. Attend scholarship and financial aid
meetings to stay current with scholarship information and policies.
Maintains scholarship databases for incoming and continuing student
scholarships. Serves as the liaison to financial aid, GSU
Foundation, and Business Services regarding scholarship
information, graduate assistantships, and non-resident tuition
waivers.
* Coordinates daily business operations for the Law Admissions
Office in compliance with university policies and guidelines.
Assists with travel and departmental purchase card usage. Maintains
inventory and orders office supplies as needed.
* Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications: Minimum Hiring Standards:
Bachelor's degree and two years of related experience; or a
combination of education and related experience.
Preferred Hiring Qualifications:
Familiarity with CRM systems such as Unite or Slate is strongly
preferred.
Knowledge of policies and procedures related to graduate
admission.
Knowledge of University systems such as Banner and Axiom.
Knowledge of basic computer operations and software, such as
spreadsheets, databases, and word processing.
Effective time management, customer service, and organizational
skills.
Effective oral and verbal communication with external and internal
customers.
Ability to multi-task, undertake some travel, work occasional
nights and weekends, and use independent judgment.
