Job Description:

The Director, Pricing will provide analytical and pricing support for our business service offerings. The position involves utilizing customers' current shipping data and available market data within Forward Air Inc. analysis models to prepare customer-specific profit and loss forecasts, enabling informed pricing recommendations. The Director will lead and manage personnel involved in initiatives related to the Routing Guide Cost Model and will be responsible for delivering impactful outcomes for the company.
Core Responsibilities & Duties:

• Provide strategic alignment, leadership, and support in operational management and client communication, including successful business reviews related to enterprise pricing initiatives.
  
• Create standardized processes to minimize loss-making customers and retain profitable ones based on the Routing Guide Cost Model.
  
• Enhance and advance the cost information system for improved decision-making.
  
• Oversee the rollout and responsible use of data analytical cost bases.
  
• Develop an understanding of customer transportation needs and service requirements.
  
• Participate in cross-functional and cross-regional projects to improve pricing infrastructure enterprise-wide.
  
• Coordinate project plans and timelines with team members across the enterprise.
  
• Engineer end-to-end applications using process engineering techniques and software development paradigms (SDLC, BPM, waterfall, agile, etc.).
  
• Apply expertise in business, marketing, pricing, and revenue management analytics.
  
• Utilize quantitative and statistical approaches for revenue analytics and optimization.
  
• Support RFQs, RFPs, and RFIs promptly and effectively.
  
• Analyze market and industry trends for pricing effectiveness.
  
• Identify and analyze current and potential business opportunities.
  
• Develop business proposals and bid packages.
  
• Conduct ad hoc reporting and analysis related to customer revenue, profit margins, and service.
  
• Create financial models and reports to support internal initiatives.
  
• Perform other duties as assigned.
  
  Qualifications:
  
  
• Bachelor's degree in business, logistics, transportation, supply chain, or equivalent industry experience.
  
• Minimum of three years' experience in transportation.
  
• Strong relationships with air freight, ocean carriers, airlines, and freight forwarders.
  
• Knowledge of FMC rules and regulations.
  
• Experience with tariffs, rates, accessorial pricing, class, and commodities.
  
• Experience reviewing and negotiating transportation contracts.
  
• Proficiency in MS Excel; MS Access experience preferred.
  
• Ability to work cross-functionally with stakeholders in operations, IT, HR, and finance.
  
• Minimal travel required (less than 10%).
