We are seeking a hands-on 3rd Shift PLC Technician with a strong
foundation in troubleshooting and modifying automated systems to
join our highly automated manufacturing facility. In this critical
role, you will play a key part in minimizing downtime by supporting
both automation and broader maintenance functions.
As part of a collaborative team, you'll work on troubleshooting and
modifying Allen Bradley PLCs, diagnosing electrical systems, and
jumping in on mechanical repairs when needed. Flexibility and a
team-first attitude are essential - especially during breakdowns
when everyone is expected to pitch in.
Key Responsibilities:
Troubleshoot and modify PLC programs (primarily Allen Bradley) to
resolve issues such as delayed hydraulic cylinder firing or sensor
malfunctions.
Adjust timers, force inputs, or implement minor programming changes
to restore production.
Diagnose and repair HMI, VFD, and various electrical components
including sensors, control panels, circuit breakers, motors, and
AC/DC drives.
Assist with mechanical troubleshooting and repairs when
required.
Collaborate with the maintenance team to respond to breakdowns
quickly and effectively.
Contribute to the design, installation, and sizing of complex
electrical systems (three-phase 480V+).
Participate in the installation and commissioning of CAPEX
equipment.
Must-Have Qualifications:
3+ years of hands-on PLC troubleshooting and programming
modification experience (preferably Allen Bradley; Siemens
acceptable).
HMI and VFD troubleshooting experience.
Strong team mentality - willingness to support with both electrical
and mechanical tasks.
Experience working in a highly automated industrial manufacturing
environment.
Solid understanding of three-phase 480V+ electrical systems,
including design and component sizing.
2+ years diagnosing and repairing electrical systems (sensors,
power transmission, pumps, motors, air compressors, etc.).
High School Diploma or GED required.
Preferred Qualifications:
Associate degree or technical certification in Electronics,
Automation, or Industrial Programming.
Basic understanding of hydraulics and pneumatics, especially in
press systems.
Experience with natural gas furnaces or aluminum extrusion.
Familiarity with CAPEX equipment installation and
commissioning.
