Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN (Registered Nurse) Specialty: Acute Care Medical Surgical Duration: 20 weeks Shift: 12 Hours Night Shift Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years in specialty License: Required Certifications: BLS, NIHSS (must be AHA) Must-Have: Minimum 2 years of experience in acute care medical surgical Description: Strict 75-mile radius from the address on the traveler's driver's license to the facility. Experience in specialty is required. Ratios are typically 1:5, possibly 1:6 for both day and night shifts. Nurse aides are present in the unit with ratios generally 1:8 or 1:10. Floating may occur to all acute care and related units for medical patient holds. General orientation will last for one week and will include training on the electronic medical record system. Floor-specific orientation will last for two days. The facility is located in a city with a population of approximately 80,000, with several major cities within driving distance. Housing options in the area have been vetted for safety and cleanliness. Accommodations are available nearby with competitive rates for travelers. Cancellation policy is set for 12 hours every two weeks. The charting system used is MEDITECH - 6.1.
