Job Title: RN Clinical Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Inpatient Nursing Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Less than 1 year preferred License: RN - Registered Nurse Certifications: BLS - Basic Life Support Must-Have: - Ability to read, write, and speak English - Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills - Excellent time management skills - Strong critical thinking skills Description: The RN Clinical Nurse is a proactive member of an interdisciplinary team. They ensure that patients, families, and significant others receive individualized, high-quality patient care. The role is supported through a Professional Practice Model and evidence-based practice. RN competencies are derived from these frameworks and supported by core values. All RN Clinical Nurses are expected to uphold the practice of nursing as outlined by the relevant licensing authority. Care should be based on the Scope of Practice and Code of Ethics Standards. Core Responsibilities and Essential Functions: The Nursing Process is performed to coordinate care through effective partnerships. Patient-centered care is provided that adapts service delivery to reflect cultural diversity. The nurse partners with patients and significant others to ensure goals are the focus of care. They practice using current clinical standards. Teamwork and Collaboration: The nurse coordinates safe, quality patient care and ensures timely documentation. They demonstrate teamwork by promoting recruitment and retention of healthcare team members. Participation in performance improvement activities is expected to promote safe, quality patient care. Professional Development and Initiative: Completing all required ongoing professional education and competency assessments is essential. The nurse may serve as a preceptor or mentor for other staff and students. Evidence-Based Practice and Research: Promotion of evidence-based practice and participation in nursing research is encouraged. Upholding all organizational policies and clinical competencies is expected. Participation in data collection and consultation with experts is part of the role. Resources and Support: The RN plans for patient care across the continuum while providing direct care. Involvement in the development of protocols and procedures is expected. Supporting efficient use of resources is crucial in achieving best practice outcomes. Other duties may be assigned as needed.
